ChANGES TO USCG HOMEPORT

The U.S. Coast Guard has decommissioned Homeport as of April 12, 2025, and is directing maritime industry stakeholders to use alternate approaches for tasks typically performed through the platform. The decommissioning is due to increasing costs and system obsolescence. The Coast Guard is establishing temporary workarounds to ensure essential services remain accessible and will keep the maritime community informed through the new Homeport Solutions & News website, Maritime Commons blog, and RSS feeds. The document provides interim procedures for Homeport functions, including:

  • Merchant Mariner Application Status and Credential Verification

  • Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC) New Hire Status

  • Mariner Training and Assessment Data (MTAD)

  • Vessel Response Plans (VRP)

  • Incident Command System (ICS) Information

  • Maritime Security (MARSEC) Level

  • Marine Safety Information Bulletins (MSIBs), Broadcast Notice to Mariners (BNM), & Local Notice to Mariners (NTM)

  • Marine Event Permits

  • Port Status and Port Contact Information

  • Area Maritime Security Committee (AMSC) Documents

  • U.S. Coast Guard Federal Advisory Committees
