What BYD’s massive new ship reveals about its business

BYD's fourth roll-on/roll-off (RoRo) ship, the Shenzhen, embarked on its first voyage to Brazil carrying over 7,000 new energy vehicles. Measuring 219.9 meters long and 37.7 meters wide, it can carry up to 9,200 vehicles and uses a dual-fuel system. BYD's RoRo ships transported over 25,000 new energy vehicles in the first quarter of 2025. The company has been expanding its car carrier fleet to meet growing demands, with five ships already in operation and more expected.
